According to SFpark Parking Sensor Technology Performance Evaluation Report
BERKELEY, CA—July 1, 2014—Sensys Networks, Inc., the world’s leading provider of integrated wireless traffic data systems for Smart Cities, announced today that its MicroRadarTM parking sensor achieved the highest occupancy accuracy of any competing sensor in testing conducted by SFpark:
| Sensor Technology (vendor) | Occupancy Accuracy |
| MicroRadarTM (Sensys Networks) | 98% |
| Infrared (CPT) | 92% |
| Magnetometer (StreetSmart) | 81% |
| Radar/magnetomer (Fybr) | 78% |
| Image recognition (Cysen) | 77% |
Significantly, the second best sensing technology had 4 times the error rate compared to the Sensys Networks MicroRadarTM parking sensor. This is a huge difference in typical parking applications, such as meter reset, directed enforcement and parking guidance, where errors in occupancy accuracy can dramatically reduce the overall effectiveness of the application.
