Ph.D., CEO, Co-Founder
Over the past two decades Dr. Amine Haoui—a wireless communications pioneer—has founded and led several emerging technology companies. In 1985, Amine launched the wireless communications division at TCSI, which grew to become a leading developer of DSP and digital cellular technologies before the group’s successful IPO in 1989. As co-founder of Diva Communications—an innovator in the nascent wireless loop industry—Amine served as CEO before acquisition by InnoMedia in 1999. He then served as InnoMedia’s Executive VP for the next four years. In 2003, Dr. Haoui co-founded Sensys Networks, a technology company focused on wireless vehicle detection systems for the transportation industry.
Amine holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley, an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Ph.D., CTO, Co-Founder
Sensys Networks co-founder, Dr. Robert Kavaler is a born inventor. With over 25 years of experience in developing wireless, ultra-low-power sensors, Robert is both the architect of the Sensys Networks product line, and an individual contributor in the software and hardware implementations.
Previously, Robert led the Berkeley Design Center at InnoMedia, where he served as chief architect of the company’s telecom server and VoIP gateway products. Before his work at InnoMedia, Robert was CTO and VP of Engineering at Diva Communications, a wireless local loop startup he co-founded with Dr. Amine Haoui in 1993. Robert has also developed new technologies for UPS, Mitsubishi, AT&T, Sharp, and Digital Microsystems, and received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Chief Financial Officer
Mark McGourty has over 35 years of experience as a financial executive. Mark is a results-driven financial executive with extensive startup experience and specializes in operations, infrastructure and capital markets. Prior to joining Sensys Mark was the CFO of Bear Data Solutions, Inc., where he led the turnaround of the company and enabled the successful sale to a publically traded company in the fall of 2014. Prior to Bear Data, Mark filled both the CFO and CEO positions at Eightfold Logic, Inc. overseeing all of the company's operations. Additionally, Mark provided consulting services to The DealMap regarding its financial and administrative functions and assisted in the sale of the Company to Google in July 2011. Mark previously held the COO and CFO position at The Sports Retail Networks Inc., where he directed the day to day operations of the company. Prior to The Sports Retail Networks, Inc, he held a variety of senior financial positions at BayHill Partners LLC, Atherton Capital Incorporated, Brokers Acceptance Corporation, First California Mortgage Company and The Associates. Mark began his career as a Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young.
He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
Senior VP of Engineering & Operations
Brian Fuller has over 25 years of product design and development experience in data networking and telephony. Prior to joining Sensys Networks, Brian was Director of Hardware Engineering at GoDigital Networks, managing the extensive growth of the company's xDSL technologies while designing patented systems for their broadband access products. Brian has held both technical and managerial responsibilities at Odyssia Systems (now Extreme Networks, Inc.), Diva Communications (now InnoMedia, Inc.), and OcTel Communications (now Lucent Technologies, Inc.).
Brian received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Ph.D., VP of Business Development & Government Relations
Dr. Hamed Benouar comes to Sensys Networks with extensive experience in the transportation industry. Prior to joining the company, Hamed served as Director of the California Center for Innovative Transportation (CCIT), at the University of California, Berkeley. Established by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the University of California in 2001, the CCIT facilitated the development, commercialization, and deployment of promising transportation technologies and systems.
Before his role at CCIT, Hamed spent many years as Caltrans’ Chief Traffic Engineer, overseeing the statewide Transportation Operations Program. This program, comprised of over 1,600 employees, managed and operated more than 48,000 lane miles of state highway system.
Hamed is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Transportation) from the University of California, Berkeley.
VP of Europe, Middle-East, Africa
Luca Fusina has a broad and international experience in Sales, Strategy & Business Development, Operations, Engineering Management as well as in developing talent, organizations, and markets globally. With over 25 years of experience, Luca has developed a deep industry expertise in transportation, electronics, software, and other high-tech industries.
Luca holds a Master Degree in Electronic Engineering, University of Padova
VP of Sales & SBU
Barry Matlack has over 20 years of experience in business development, program development, collaborative partnerships, sales management and consulting high tech organizations. Barry began with Sensys Networks in 2005 as one of the early employees. Prior to joining Sensys Networks, Barry was responsible for marketing, sales, and strategic industry partnerships in North America for Signal-Park USA, a worldwide technology leader in vehicle detection for parking guidance/management systems. Barry began his career in the Design software industry, where he developed a proven track record of increasing revenue in diverse engineering environments. Mr. Matlack has always been an early adopter of new and emerging technologies, which fuels his passion for conquering new markets.
Barry earned his B.Sc. in Design Technology at the University of Advancing Technology, Tempe, Arizona.
VP of North America Sales & Distribution
Bill Weber has provided more than two decades of leadership for innovative projects and organizations within several industry-leading companies. Prior to Sensys Networks, Bill gained invaluable experience in 3M's innovative culture through a diverse path of responsibilities as well as the company's renowned training programs in leadership and technical disciplines. In over fifteen years at 3M, Bill's leadership positions spanned product development, manufacturing, professional services, operations, marketing and sales. He led several teams commercializing ground-breaking new products, including successful new sustainable business models for the company. Within the Intelligent Transportation Systems industry, Bill's roles have involved operations leadership at the Vice President and COO level with experience in both direct and distribution channel business models.
Bill earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Floyd Williams III
VP of Data Services
Floyd Williams has over 25 years of experience in both product, and services sectors, with an emphasis in technology, business strategy, and product management. Prior to joining Sensys Networks, Floyd co-founded FoundryOne, an innovation services company which assisted large corporations in productizing their latent intellectual property. Floyd earlier led product development at Internet Profiles, the leading auditor of ad-supported web sites, and Evolve Software, an early innovator in resource management software.
Floyd holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Arizona.
